CONCLUSION

How do you feel at the end of the challenge?

Pretty good. Prior to taking the challenge I was nervous about dropping coffee as I really rely on it for teaching classes and maintaining my energy levels. However, what this has shown me is that coffee only makes a fraction of difference to my energy and only gives me high energy in small bursts.

Will you be swapping coffee for green tea longer term?

Yes definitely and I would recommend Pukka green teas to anyone looking to wean themselves off coffee.

How’s your overall wellbeing after the challenge?

The biggest thing I have noticed is my mood/energy levels have remained quite neutral. Usually I have big highs and then huge crashes. I have had a busy week as I have been teaching quite a bit so I am generally quite tired, however, my moods have seen the biggest improvement. Normally I am prone to headaches so I was surprised that I didn’t get any headaches.

Any changes to your skin?

My skin is definitely clearer, less dry and I have less darkness under my eyes. I think this is due to me drinking a lot more water and not relying on coffee for energy hits.

What is the biggest learning to take away from this challenge?

My mood/energy levels. Sometimes when I drink loads of coffee I get quite a bit of anxiety, most probably as a result of the caffeine. This stopped altogether. The biggest learning is that I don’t need to rely on coffee!
