BE YOUR OWN CAPTAIN

Load up those picnic baskets, chill the Rosé and captain your own boat with a group of friends. Depart from Merchant Square and travel up to Little Venice, from where you can either head East to Camden, or West to Kensal Green and beyond.

Take your role as Captain seriously and plan your adventure in advance. Tip – pick up picnic supplies from M&S – 4 minutes away.

BOARD A FLOATING RUM BAR

Fancy being a Pirate instead? Head to Kings Cross for a Rum soaked voyage. Feast on seafood from the London Shell Company, washed down with lots of delicious Wood’s Navy Rum served from the Ladies and Gentlemen bar.

Try the Greenheart Grog cocktail inspired by the traditional ‘grog’ invented for seafarers in 1740. A simple, refreshing mixture of Wood’s Navy Rum, pink grapefruit juice, lime juice, honey and ginger beer.

The boat holds up to 12 people and makes for an ideal evening with friends.

SURF A MAN MADE WAVE

PLAY ROOFTOP CROQUET

Croquet and Pétanque aren’t exactly games you’d associate with an East London car-park – but this is exactly what you’ll find at Skylight. An imaginative new rooftop destination themed around a British lawn club.

Do battle with your mallets and feast on delicious street food while supping a glass of Laurent-Perrier. Pets are welcome until 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are only accepted for groups larger than 10 people.

WATCH IRONMAN ON EXMOOR

Situated in Exmoor National Park, one of the most picturesque areas of England, Wimbleball Lake has been host to IRONMAN 70.3 UK since 2006.

SURF OR SUP IN NORTH DEVON

While you’re in the area… drive to the nearby beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton Sands. Book a surf or SUP lesson with North Devon Surf School and reward efforts with pub grub at The Thatch. Be sure to stop off at Croyde’s Ice Cream Parlour to help you cool off after battling the swell.

HIRE A BOAT IN SALCOMBE

For something a little less rugged and wild, head over to the scenic Salcombe waters and hire your own self-drive boat.

Spend the day at the beach or go fishing. Visit the local pubs in Kingsbridge and Southpool at high tide or enjoy exploring the beautiful estuary and creeks, with their local resident seals and birdlife!

ANNA DE CODORNIU TERRACE, DOUBLE TREE DOCKLANDS
