The brainchild of DJ and fellow healthy hedonist Asad Naqvi – SHOT is an urban sanctuary for stressed City workers. DOSE paid them a visit after a morning Reshape workout to sample the grab and go breakfast menu.
We love an acronym… If you haven’t cracked ours yet, it stands for Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphin. Feel good hormones that we’re helping you tap into through a balance of exercise, eating well and socialising over a healthier tipple.
The Simple, Healthy, Organic and Tasty (… get it?) cafe, is a sanctuary for stressed city workers. Snuggly situated between Goldman Sachs and Freshfields, a 10 minute walk from St Paul’s station.
It’s quite easy to miss, tucked away on Bride Lane but once you’ve discovered it, you’ll soon be back. Some suits come as often as three times a day.
The breakfast menu includes; Salmon Avocado toast with a poached egg on sourdough and Sweet Potato hash with onions and red pepper. If you’ve got more of a sweet tooth, try the Protein Pancakes with banana, cacao nibs and maple syrup. The best part? All breakfast options are under a fiver!
There’s a range of superfood smoothies and juices to choose from. If you’re succumbing to a cold, knock back a shot of lemon, ginger and echinacea – the tickle in your throat will vanish within seconds. For a morning pick-me-up try the punchy coffee courtesy of Nude Espresso.
All food is organic, clean and chemical-free with no refined sugars. The menu is really easy to follow and clearly identifies all gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. It’s not all avocado toast either. There’s plenty of hearty, protein heavy options like the steak sandwich with rocket, kale and caramelised onions.
SHOT proves that healthy eating doesn’t have to be dull, confusing or tasteless… We highly recommend you pay them a visit on your lunch hour.
Tip: SHOT is closed at the weekends. If you’re planning a corporate meeting or special event, they offer a catering service.
