Did someone say Hairclubbing?

 Why Trust Us

Disclosure

Bar + Salon = Hairclubbing. Our new favourite post-workout past-time. Catch up with friends over blow-dries and wine, relaxing on Netflix whilst waiting for your highlights to develop, or simply enjoy an Old Fashioned during your cut…

Created by Soho stylist Julia Olofsson and musician-turned-entrepreneur D.T. Stroo, Blade Hairclub was born from their desire to create a happy, unpretentious, and friendly place to get your hair done AND hang out – alone or with friends.

The couple set out to create the absolute antithesis to impersonal and uncomfortable salons where mechanical small talk, dull waiting times and homogenised cuts are matched by warm wine, cold coffee and well-thumbed magazines.

The intimate bar provides a compact but noteworthy selection of cocktails, whiskies, biodynamic wines, craft beer and signature serves.

Run by Stroo, a drinks aficionado and whisky connoisseur, the drinks are strictly hand-picked to deliver ‘session’ level quality over pomp and price: from Ethiopian single-origin Sidamo Arabica coffee beans and ceremonial grade matcha green tea to rare bourbons not available in the UK and single malts – selected and brought back from US and Scotland by Stroo personally.

Examples from the menu include:

• The Last Word – Monkey 47 Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, Green Chartreuse, fresh lime juice £9.90

• Harviestoun Raspy Engine – Raspberry-infused craft porter served with Maraschino cherry, 5.3%, 330ml bottle £4.70

• Springbank Tasting Room – Campbeltown Single Malt, distillery-only edition, 56.7%, 35ml £6.00

• Meinklang Prosa – Certified 100% Biodynamic Austrian Pinot Noir Frizzante, 10.5%, 125ml £4.90

The espresso bar upstairs serves single-origin coffee, and cold-pressed juices are made fresh to order while a turntable plays blues, soul and jazz vinyls selected by Stroo.

Guests are also greeted with iPads attached to each salon chair by adjustable arms, so they can browse and shop, binge-watch Netflix, or work remotely from the comfort of the salon.

A great place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon, the venue also hosts live jazz nights, while Thursday and Friday evenings often see customers booking their appointments in tandem and visit Blade Hairclub as a warm up for a big night out!
