It’s winter and we want carbs, romance, cosy corners and roaring fireplaces. If you’re with us, here are our top 5 cosy restaurants to snuggle up in…

DALLOWAY TERRACE

Dalloway Terrace has been made over by Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart – one of the most celebrated British florists, and the prettiest terrace in London is now covered in Insta-friendly greenery and flowers in winter hues. Heaters, hot water bottles and blankets will keep you cosy while enjoying al fresco dining, with an indulgent warming menu including truffle cheese fondue and a dark chocolate fondant.

ANDREW EDMUNDS

Andrew Edmunds

Andrew Edmunds is almost synonymous with romance. A Soho institution that’s been around since the 80s, the space may be small and the decor simple, but the candles in wine bottles, excellent food and old-school vibe set the tone for a restaurant you won’t want to leave.

KITTY FISHERS

Kitty Fishers

Foodies go mad for Kitty Fishers, with the bread and butter just as highly regarded as any of its dishes. It’s almost impossible to get a table, which just adds to the intimate, exclusive feel of the place, and it’s in cosy-but-slightly-naughty Shepherd Market. The lighting is dim and it’s named after an 18th century local courtesan. What’s not to love?

HOTEL L’OSCAR

L’Oscar

Hotel L’Oscar is one to know about. A church-turned-boutique hotel in the heart of Holborn, interiors are luxe and Art Deco-esque. At in-house restaurant and bar The Baptist Grill, you can sit back on velvet chairs in the double-height former chapel with the most magnificent cornicing around. The special Valentine’s menu is seriously tempting, as is a night in one of the bedrooms upstairs…
