From outdoor swimming to Turf games. Read on for the best fitness event challenges to keep you motivated. There’s something for everyone if you’re willing to put in the effort.

The Turf Games – Fri 2 Jul 2021 – Sun 4 Jul 2021.

The Turf Games includes their initial formats and categories as well as their impressive new venue.  This year, it won’t be 1 day, or 2 – but 3 days of competition – bringing together the Under Armour Turf Games Community in larger numbers than ever before. The new home of the Turf Games London Summer Festival is Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club, in Ealing, West London W13.

Friday – Elite Athlete ‘Friday Night Lights’ – This was one of the highlights of the Summer Festival – Like 2019, they will be kicking off the Elite workouts under lights.  Athletes are to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their heat time with the first heat starting at 6.15pm and last heat at 8.15pm.  This workout will have a 25 minute time cap and if you have competed at a Turf Games before, you know how much fun this workout is (tip: think ‘engine’).

Saturday – The day will run from 9.30am, with the first heat, until 5pm, with a massive festival atmosphere all day. Your teams exact start and finish times may vary from the above. The Divisions and Categories competing on Saturday will be:

  1. ALL Elite Teams (men’s, women’s, mixed)
  2. Everyday MEN
  3. Everyday WOMEN

Sunday – The day will run from 9.30am, with the first heat, until 5pm, with a massive festival atmosphere all day. Your teams exact start and finish times may vary from the above. All teams will compete in minimum 4 workouts throughout the day.  The Divisions and Categories competing on Sunday will be:

  1. ALL Everyday MIXED Teams

Battle Cancer Together – 17th October 2021 at Olympia London. .

Enlist your team, set yourself a goal and take part in an epic day. Battle Cancer competitions present a unique team-based experience for people looking to make a difference and kick cancer to the dust. The emphasis is on fun partner workouts and there are prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed pairs including free entry to regular events, WIT apparel, MyProtein bundles and crates full of Nocco.

Ullswater Epic Lake Swim – 6th June 2021

The Ullswater Epic Lakes Swim is event 1 of the Epic Lakes Open Water Swim Series. It takes place from Jenkins Field, in Glenridding, Patterdale and it is a celebration of being British. There will be the option when entering the mile or the 3.8km races to swim without a wetsuit. You must have previous event experience of swimming without a wetsuit which must be provided at the point of entry. Tow Floats will be compulsory for all Skin Swimmers. For all other competitors wetsuits are compulsory. The minimum age for competitors is 11/14/17 for 500m/1mile/3.8km on the day of the event. Event starts 6th June 2021.

Rat Race Coast To Coast – 11th September 2021

Rat Race’s original adventure race returns to the wild hills of Scotland. Join 1000 #RatRacers as they run, bike and kayak over 105 miles through one of the most famous mountain landscapes in the world. Awe inspiring views and a stunningly epic course await you in the Scottish Highlands.

Not for the faint hearted. The one-day challenge is a mammoth undertaking. Especially if the prevailing wind tries to blow you back to the start line. Bike selection and your nutrition plan are very important to give you the best chance of completion. Our cut offs are fixed and mandatory kit is key. You will be taking on a very challenging mountain run after a draining cycle ride, not to mention the kayaking. Successful finishing times on the one Day Expert class range from 8 hours 19 minutes in calm conditions to 13 hours 32 minutes in heavy weather.
