Ready to get bendy – outside? Make the most of the sunshine (fingers crossed) and downward dogs in parks, on rooftops and more. Here’s where to go for the best outdoor yoga classes…
The weekend one
Yogarise Peckham is running its rooftop yoga sessions (usually a dynamic vinyasa flow) on Saturdays and Sundays, 9.30-10.30am. Just download the Yogarise App to sign up. Namaste.
The good cause one
Yogarise is also running outdoor yoga classes in aid of Help Refugees #ChooseLove campaign in central London. The classes are donation based, starting at just £5 and take place every Wednesday 5-6pm over summer at The Lawn, St Martin’s Courtyard, Mercer Walk. Book here.
The heart of the city one
Yoga on the John Lewis (Oxford Circus) rooftop is not only super central and easy to get to, it’s a great workout. The Clapham-based experts, HEX, are running HIIT and yoga classes on the roof – HIIT is on Tuesdays at 7.30am and yoga is Fridays at the same time. Classes are £10 and run until the end of September.
The one with a view
Yoga at the Sky Garden is almost iconic now. Go along to the top of the Walkie Talkie for vinyasa flow yoga in the greenery-filled space at 6.30am – it’s the perfect way to wake up. Classes are at a more civilised time on weekends, so do treat yourself to brunch afterwards.
The beginners welcome one
A novice to sun salutations? No problem. Until the end of September, Fat Buddha Yoga is holding morning yoga sessions every Thursday from 7.45am – 8.30am at the rooftop garden at Coq d’Argent, open to all levels. A modern take on yoga, these are super high energy classes. Don’t miss breakfast at Coq d’Argent afterwards – the vegan options are worth knowing about.
The not-a-morning-person one
Struggle to set the alarm for 6am? No problem. Head to Belgravia’s Eccleston Yards after work – well worth a wander if you haven’t been – for Thursday evening yoga hosted by athleisure brand SILOU, in collaboration with hair salon Smuk. The ticket price of £15 includes the class, goodie bag and a smoothie.
The high energy one
At Madison’s Rooftop in St Paul’s, Yogi Sophie Dear is holding Wednesday morning yoga sessions at 7am. They’re on the pricier end at £16.50, but they’re upbeat and fun – the perfect energetic start to the day. Bring your own mat.
The festival one
Wanderlust 108 returns to Battersea Park on July 27th. After a 5K run expect 75 minutes of yoga with a live DJ and 25-minutes of guided meditation. Following the triathlon, you can take one scheduled activity, such as acroyoga, Aireal Yoga, hooping, or walking meditation.

Charlotte is a London girl through and through. She sweats through spin and puffs through Pilates to justify trying the latest restaurants and devouring copious amounts of sweet potato fries, burrata and bread – preferably on holiday. Her favourite destinations include Italy, the Maldives and anywhere where the sun’s shining and there’s a strong breakfast buffet. She’s obsessed with walking, visiting farmers’ markets and reading. She’s also learning to cook. Wish her (and her husband) luck.
