The Bluebird

The King’s Road. Once known as ‘a wilderness of stoned harlequins’, where the mini-skirt was invented, Vivienne Westwood owned a sex shop, and Deliveroo came in the form of a ‘flying squad. Girls in purple catsuits, delivering goods on motorbikes from the Chelsea Drug Store. Though it seems you couldn’t always get what you wanted, according to The Rolling Stones…

Now better known as a playground for healthy hedonists who flit between brunch and boxing at Kobox, sculpting at Barrecore and down dogs at Triyoga. Before supping on beauty boosting cocktails at Chelsea favourite – Bluebird.

The gleaming Art Deco icon is a veritable complex with a sprawling café and courtyard, restaurant, bar, wine cellar and food store. Executive Head Chef Liam Smith-Laing oversees a modern Mediterranean menu, which pays homage to Bluebird’s famously ‘sociable vibe’ with a selection of small plates and sharing dishes.

Their ‘healthier’ cocktail menu includes the The Detox with Seedlip spice 94 non-alcoholic spirit, lime and ginger. During the month of January, try their complexion-boosting mocktails made from hydrating, collagen boosting and anti-oxidising ingredients. A creative collaboration between The Open Beauty Lab at Facegym (next door) and Bluebird’s master mixologist Egzon Kastrati. Your face will thank you.

Get your dose of greens with the Collagen Booster – muddled fresh cucumber (known for its hydrating and collagen-boosting properties), ginger (which holds 40 different antioxidants), green apple, anti-inflammatory rosemary, Vitamin C-packed lime and Vitamin A rich spinach. A cocktail sure to perk up even the dullest skin….

Feeling stressed out? Try the Free Radical Fighter. A ruby red concoction to reduce bloating and puffiness. As Instagram-worthy as it is nourishing with Asian dragon fruit and 2017’s hottest ingredient – turmeric. It’s anti-inflammatory properties are boosted by Vitamin C-rich pineapple and British berries. The best free radical warriors out there.

Not quite ready to let go of the festive season? Keep the party going by adding a splash of vodka to your cocktail. The perfect way to enjoy a little naughtiness without compromising on the health-boosting benefits. That’s what we tell ourselves anyway…
