BOOM Cycle

The original bike-based, music focussed fitness experience saw its co-founders resign from their company with a cool $90 million EACH. Another studio that’s mastered the addictive formula, leaving riders hooked on a healthier high is BOOM Cycle! Founded by Hilary Gilbert, a Kentucky-born fitness guru, who’s cult classes pedalling at 150mph have amassed a loyal following.

The sweaty rave sessions combining choreographed programmes and weight sections are designed to keep riders active while helping them zone out and lose all inhibitions – and it’s the instructors job to get them there, an assisted high if you will.

Instructors are a big draw for this studio, each is subjected to auditions and an eight-weeks training program to ensure quality. We recommend a class with ‘Bangs’ who brings high energy, humour and a healthy dose of hip hop.

So whether you’re a first timer, hardened triathlete or cyclist looking for some extra motivation, you’re welcome to join the party and with 7 showers there’s no excuse not to get your glad rags on afterwards. Head to the Holborn Dining Room for a post-workout breakfast of smashed avocado and tomato on a toasted muffin with a non-alcoholic morning tea spritzer! Or if it’s an evening affair, don the heels and head to the dining room (home to the largest gin bar in London).
