Channel your inner Olympian and get ready to lift, swing and battle your way into shape (if you don’t mind training outdoors that is). Located at Paddington Recreational Ground in leafy Maida Vale every Wednesday or Saturday, this warrior style workout on a racing track will have you speeding through a fitness ladder, slamming weighted medicine balls and throwing the perfect punch. A great cardio and strength training session with lots of dynamic stretching and a 100m sprint finish at the end (just for fun!)

Even if it’s pouring down or blowing a gale, the show will go on. Classes are held on all-weather surfaces i.e. all-weather rubber track not grass – so you don’t have to get dirty unless you want to. But if you feel the weather conditions are not suitable, you have 12 hours to cancel without being charged.

There are no lockers (it’s just like training in a park) and no showers… You can expect to get pretty sweaty, so best to head home first before making diner arrangements but The Elgin does a great post workout breakfast between 08.00 – 12.00 noon (avo on toast with chili, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs – that sort of thing). If you fancy a tipple, they also have a great selection of botanical Gin!
