When it comes to Christmas gifts, there’s only so many bubble bath gift sets we can receive before the festive cheer wears off. So do your friends and family a favour and buy them an experience to remember rather than making their bathroom shelf bulge like our tummies after Christmas dinner. Rosie rounds up the best festive treatment packages on offer.

Ah, the party season. There’s nothing quite like it for extremes in health and beauty: we invest huge amounts in getting ‘party ready’ – then after a few too many cocktails and excessive quantities of indulgent food, we look and feel at our worst.

Fortunately, there are plenty of places offering special festive packages to sort us out both pre-and post-indulgence. Why not consider purchasing a treatment as a Christmas gift that will certainly be appreciated once the January blues set in?

Oxford Street can feel like hell on earth when you’re battling the crowds to purchase Christmas gifts – or find the elusive correct size of that reduced pair of heels you’ve been eyeing up for the past few months. But it wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit to Liberty and it’s oh so worth it for a pampering experience with REN Clean skincare. Pay a visit between 9th – 15th December for a treatment inspired by Japanese acupressure and Swedish massage. The best part? The treatment is redeemable against any REN product purchased in-store on the day.

Head a few steps south to escape the chaos at the Beaumont Hotel, where a specially-designed Retreat package will melt away the stresses of shopping frenzy with a hamam, facial and full body massage, followed by afternoon tea in the Lobby Lounge, where the inviting Christmas decorations will lift even the most exhausted of spirits. At £185 for one or £350 for two people, it’s the perfect excuse to drag your partner to the Boxing Day sales.

Alternatively, if the endless feasting on pigs in blankets and mince pies has left you feeling sluggish, head to The Elixir Clinic for a dose of much-needed vitamins to give you the health kick you need both pre- and post-party season. If the clinic’s bespoke VitaDrip® treatments and elixir facials can keep their long list of celebrity clients looking fabulous all year round, then there’s hope for us mere mortals in battling the post-Christmas bloat. There are clinics inside Harrods and the Ned if you’d like to soak up the festive surroundings, or they even offer a concierge service if you’re not ready to face the outside world. Give the gift of rejuvenation this Christmas with a voucher for an IV drip, starting at £100.

We’ve already added most of Cowshed’s gorgeous festive gift collection to our Christmas list, but this year their spas are also offering a menu of festive treatments. Whether it’s popping into their Selfridges spa to rejuvenate worn-out feet from long days of Christmas shopping, or a pampering gift voucher for a friend or family member, they’ve got everything covered. We particularly like the look of their Christmas Spa-rkle package, which includes a tension-easing back massage, a rejuvenating facial and a speedy mani-pedi served up with a glass of fizz, priced at £145 for two hours of Christmas bliss.

Searching for the ultimate festive spa indulgence? Look no further than Hotel Café Royal’s Christmas with diptyque package. The hotel has collaborated with the luxury perfumer to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree scented with the brand’s famous Sapin de Lumière fragrance, with decorations in the shape of its famous oval featuring letters of the alphabet in its recognisable typeface. To celebrate the collaboration, the hotel is offering a stay in one of its historic signature suites where a chilled bottle of Champagne Ruinart will await, as well as a shopping experience at the nearby diptyque boutique followed by a festive afternoon tea inspired by diptyque scents served in the gilded Oscar Wilde Lounge, before retreating to the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing spa to relax and unwind.

If you like the idea of indulgence but are less keen on the £3,000 price tag, the Summit of the Cervin facial by luxury Swiss skincare specialist Valmont offers a taste of luxury at a more affordable price of £250. This includes a 90-minute facial, full use of the Akasha spa facilities, a glass of Veuve Clicquot and a Valmont gift to take home: the perfect treat for you or present to give a loved one.

Ready to face winter with an almighty glow? The AWAY Spa at W London has launched an exclusive facial treatment by Spanish cult-beauty brand, Natura Bissé. The Citrus Essence Ritual Treatment priced at £122, begins with a stress-busting back massage using a firming C+C Vitamin Aroma Balm to alleviate built up tension in the upper-back, neck and shoulders. The pampering continues with various enzyme peels, concentrates and a soufflé-like ascorbic facial mask that leaves skin with a red-carpet glow. We can’t think of a better gift than that.
