Looking for a low impact workout that will test your core and perk up that posterior chain? Take a break from your emails and head to Ten Health & Fitness.
Nestled in the heart of leafy Fitzrovia, a stone’s throw from the bustling coffee shops and eateries of Foley Street, this is the eighth studio to join the brand’s expansive portfolio.
Cool and contemporary, the stylish venue offers a range of classes for all levels from dynamic Pilates and stretch sessions to one-on-one personal training.
They even offer a Rehab clinic for those looking to make the transition from chronic injury or illness to full fitness.
We took an intermediate reformer class with Maria Athanelsi. A challenging but slow paced practise that worked up a sweat, but nothing on the scale to somewhere like Studio Lagree.
But Ten’s strength isn’t in the neon lights, frantic pace and pumping playlists, rather in the intimate style of training and attention to detail.
Here the Pilates instructors, physios, massage therapists and trainers work together as a holistic unit – sharing the client’s information from goal setting and progress management to injury prevention or correction.
Their spacious studio offers a diverse range of Pilates classes suited to runners and cyclists to expectant mothers.
If you’re new to the Reformer, don’t worry. Ten caters to beginners through to advanced so there’s the option to take it slow or push yourself to the next level.
Thanks to a cap of ten people per class, there’s plenty of room for individual attention and hands on adjustments.
At the ground level, you’ll discover a reception area and the ‘Ten Edit’ boutique, packed with high performance activewear, sports recovery and beauty products plus healthy snacks.
