Summer is just around the corner, which means goodbye red wine and hello cocktails. Head to the park or host a BBQ – we have rounded up the drinks you’ll be sipping on all summer long…

The ciders

Brothers Parma Violet

English cider brand Brothers Cider has two new flavours, Parma Violet and Strawberries & Cream. The latter is a sweet treat, while Parma Violet blends sweet violets with subtle floral notes.

Old Mout Pineapple & Raspberry

Exotic ciders are going nowhere, as Kiwi brand Old Mout has added the tropical flavour Pineapple & Raspberry to its repertoire. Available in both bottles and cans, it’s one for those who like their drinks on the sweet and fruity side, with a four percent ABV. We think it will be a summer sensation.

The gins

Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice

Hendrick’s has launched its Midsummer Solstice Gin, the first ever limited-edition blend from the brand. It is, somewhat romantically, inspired by a midsummer love story and nature’s most abundant blooms. With a base of cucumber and rose and a selection of floral essences, it is a light, fun drink.

Beefeater Blood Orange

Beefeater Blood Orange is a brand new addition to the gin scene. Inspired by the original Orange Gin distilled by Beefeater’s founder James Burrough in 1876, it has a bitter-sweet juicy flavour and a vibrant colour. Try mixing it with tonic, soda water or ginger ale, and serve over ice with a slice of blood orange.

The popsicle

Gordon’s Gin has launched a popsicle, POPS. Made from Gordon’s London Dry Gin and real lime juice, each has just 47 calories and a low alcohol content of <0.5% ABV. The launch coincides with Gordon’s 250th anniversary, too, so you can cheers to that.

The wine

Rathfinny English Wine has a new sparkling wine, 2015 Blanc de Noirs. Produced in Sussex, it is made from 65 per cent Pinot Noir and 35 per cent Pinot Meunier and has been aged for thirty-six months on the yeast lees. Connoisseurs: think peony and wild strawberry on the nose, and raspberries and toasted almonds on the palate.

The DIY cocktail

London’s first ever cocktail delivery service is here, allowing you to get fun, tasty cocktails delivered to your door in less than an hour. With Liquorette, you can design your own bespoke cocktail or order one of the bar’s classics. It will take summer entertaining to whole new levels as you get to be your own bartender: shake, strain and garnish to your heart’s content.
