Being cooped up inside has got the DOSE team dreaming about where they’ll go once the lockdown restrictions are lifted. Whilst some of us are dreaming of escaping to a sunny beach resort, others would be more than happy with a trip to their local pub. Read on and be inspired…

When this is all over, I want to go on a road trip to Portugal via the French Pyrénées. I’ll load up on bread and cheese and stop off along the way for picnics, hikes and lake swimming with my daughter, spaniel and husband… if we haven’t divorced by then. When we get to Portugal, I’ll drop the babies with my in-laws in Monchique and head off for a surfing trip along the west coast, living on piri piri chicken, chips and Sagres, rounded off with a hop to Belmond Reid’s Palace in Madeira for a night of luxury. This plan heavily depends on the lockdown lifting before summer… which is highly unlikely, but one can dream!

I will be definitely have a REAL house party with all my friends and family I have missed seeing over these past few weeks. I’ll visit all of my favourite Asian restaurants that I can’t access on Deliveroo or have had to shut down, and will enjoy and never take for granted again my beloved local pub, the Red Lion and Sun in Highgate.

The start of the quarantine coincided with the breakdown of my long-term relationship, which left me living alone for the first time as well as being in self-isolation… Sounds terrible, but it’s actually given me a lot of time to reflect about where I’m at now and where I want my life to go. Once this is over, I plan to travel for a little while, work remotely and teach yoga and surfing. My first stop will be Morocco – I go at least once a year and I can’t wait to spend some extended time there. I’m also planning to surf as much as possible whenever I’m able to, so I’ve got my eye on Bali and Sri Lanka. It’s been a weird time, but I do feel like I’m learning about how to be alone whilst also staying connected with those who are important to me. I’m going to appreciate having the freedom to travel so much more after all of this!

The things I’m most looking forward to are getting my nails done and eyebrows threaded, and going to a local pub to sit in the garden all afternoon and drink rosé until it closes. I had my booking at The Pig Hotel over the bank holiday weekend cancelled – we were going for a Michelin-starred pub lunch at The Fordwich Arms, checking into The Pig, having facials and massages, then eating an amazing dinner and staying in one of their hop picker huts. I can’t wait to get that booked in again, and be able to roam freely around the hotel and talk to other gets without having to keep our distance.

When this is over – hopefully soon! – you will find me in my favourite local Italian in Notting Hill, Mediterraneo, with a huge group of friends and family. I’ve missed them like mad, almost as badly as I miss someone else preparing food for me that doesn’t mainly involve eggs and toast, and someone else having to run their dishwasher 4 times a day…
Rosie, Management Consultant
My job involves a lot of travel, so being forced to stay at home is something I’ve really embraced – cooking dinner, sleeping in my own bed and spending time with my boyfriend are rare luxuries for me in normal circumstances! We’ve been really enjoying cooking nourishing meals and live streaming yoga classes on Instagram – so much so that we’re planning to book a retreat once we’re able to travel again. We’ve got our eyes on the #Offline48 escape organised by Our Retreat, co-hosted by Venetia and Max La Manna at the beautiful 42 Acres Farmhouse in Somerset – a 3-day digital detox with yoga, meditation, sound healing, breathwork, picturesque country walks and delicious plant-based food.

Travel is a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to continue exploring our wonderful world when it’s safe to do so. I’d love to visit Mexico this year and am hoping to spend a few days at Artah, a wellness retreat in Spain.

After graduating from Cambridge University with a triple First, Rosie decided to pursue a career in the fitness industry rather than follow the traditional path of her peers in investment banking. Unable to shake off the fast-paced routine she developed in her City job, she achieves balance by winding down in yoga sessions, escaping on fitness retreats, and going for extended brunches that somehow seem to wind up in a hidden gem of a cocktail bar.
