Tummy friendly pizza at Buongiorno e Buonasera

 Why Trust Us

Disclosure

Oxford’s favourite Romana pizza spot, Buongiorno e Buonasera, has opened in London on Baker Street. The beautiful Italian inspired eatery serves dishes guided by a simple principle; authentic Italian food made with high-quality ingredients.

Whilst the menu features sandwiches, soups, sweet treats and salads, we were here to try their Romana Pizza. Unlike Neopolitan pizza, a Romana pizza base is a lighter, made with organic, non-GMO wheat, soy and rice flour. It is leavened for 48 hours which all results in a light, crispy base which is kind on the tummy and easier to digest.

Their innovative Carbonara takes all the flavours of the famous pasta dish, reimagined as pizza toppings. Add a drizzle of truffle oil and it’s a divinely unusual treat! There are lots of great veggie options too, including a few vegan ones. We tried the Vegana, made with artichoke cream (in place of cheese), spinach, mushrooms and tomato. The artichoke gives it such a creamy texture that you won’t even miss the cheese – which honestly is not something we ever thought possible…

The front of the space doubles up as what feels like an authentic Italian grocery store. So once you’ve been inspired by the menu (and the tuscan weddings appearing on your Instagram feed!) you can go home and try to create a bit of Italy for yourself.
