London in summer is simply glorious. Agreed? And what better way to spend those warm evenings and sun-drenched days than at a rooftop bar. Luckily, there’s lots of them dotted around the city and here’s five of our favourites…
Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch
Shoreditch stalwart Queen of Hoxton always comes up trumps with its annual summer playground – and this year its rooftop bar has had a mega Mexican makeover. The theme is inspired by the vibrant town of San Cristóbal in Mexico and will see the space transformed into the secret den of the Luchadores (lady wrestlers). Expect tacos and tequila aplenty. Opens 2nd May until October 2019.
Frank’s Cafe, Peckham
You know summer is nearly upon us when Frank’s Cafe re-opens for business. Located on the roof of a disused multi-story car park in the heart of Peckham, this no-frills bar is hipster heaven. Go for the Campari-based cocktails, tapas-style small plates and those sunset views. Its summer season kicks off on 30th May 2019.

Radio Rooftop, Covent Garden
If you want a bar with wow-factor then look no further than Radio Rooftop. You’ll find the bar on the 10th floor of ME London hotel where you can enjoy spectacular views across the River Thames and London’s most iconic landmarks. The drink prices may be sky-high but panoramas don’t come better than this. Plus, this summer it has launched two themed terraces in collaboration with Patrón Tequila and Bombay Sapphire – choose between a Botanical Garden or a Mexican Hacienda.
Netil 360, Hackney
Indie cafe and workspace Netil 360 also has an incredible sun-kissed roof terrace that overlooks the Hackney skyline. It attracts trendy types with its laid-back vibe and craft beers. Look out for its programme of events, which have previously included yoga, workshops and film screenings. Open from April until December.

Pergola Paddington
Set over two beautifully decorated floors, Pergola Paddington is one for the foodies. This alfresco hangout, opening on 2nd May 2019, has seating for 850 diners, bookable daybeds, DJs playing all weekend and bottomless brunch on Sundays. There’s also four food vendors: Babek Brothers, Honi Poké, An Choi, a new food trader from the Salvation in Noodles team, and Smash Patty – a new burger concept from the guys behind Patty & Bun. Eat, drink, repeat.
