Things you can do while wearing a pampering face mask

 Why Trust Us

Disclosure

Covid-19 has us all homebound, taking Zoom work calls in a smart shirt tucked into pyjama bottoms and baking banana bread on repeat. Hopefully you’re staying healthy and sane – and taking some time for self care. For us, that includes skin care, and with that in mind, here are all the things you can do with a face mask on…

Bake

Yes, your Instagram is full of banana bread pics – and for good reason. When food is about to go off, it can often be used in a cake – waste not, want not. Plus, we certainly have the time to cook and bake to our heart’s content. We’re eating all meals at home, so you know it’ll be devoured instantly. It’s a win win.

Watch an episode of your favourite show

I’m currently rotating between The English Game, Belgravia, Money Heist and Keeping Up With The Kardashians. There’s lots to keep us amused. No matter your mood in the moment, a good show can help, and many episodes are perfectly timed with the amount of time a mask takes to work its magic.

Do a home workout

Ok, nothing too strenuous if you’ve popped on a sheet mask or got avocado falling down your face. That said, if you’ve used a thin mask or something quick-drying like clay, there’s no reason you can’t squat and lunge at the same time. Just set a timer for when both the workout and mask are ready to finish. Mind, body, soul and all that.

Give yourself a mani pedi

Salons are shut and you’ve never looked or felt less groomed. Don’t give in. While the mask is working on your face, simply file your nails and use a bright pop of colour on them. It’s an instant pick-me-up that kills two birds with one stone.

Call a friend

It needn’t be on Zoom or Houseparty if you’re embarrassed about getting seen in a mask – though frankly, I wouldn’t care at this point. Just calling a friend will help you feel brighter and more connected to the outside world – and you may be able to help make someone else’s day, too.

Get some work done

That to-do list, that deadline, hoovering – having no need for formal attire, make-up or even underwear has a silver lining, you know. You can pop on a face mask and conquer whatever needs to get done, making your time extra productive.

Meditate

Moments to find sanity in this anxious time are everything. Lie on the sofa, do some deep breathing exercises or use an app like Headspace. You’ll emerge feeling clearer and more refreshed – as will your skin.

You’ve got this.
