Any true Londoner knows not to pay too much attention to squirrels in the Royal Parks… but this one is quite the exception. Swing by for post workout refreshment after a morning at Kobox and Barrecore – both a 15 minute walk away.
Set within natural ‘treehouse’ surroundings, an ‘acorn’s throw’ from South Kensington tube station, the menu focuses on seasonal ingredients made fresh on site. There’s a service counter contained in a 21 foot long fallen oak tree and a grazing bar offering a wide variety of nut mixes and dried fruits where customers can help themselves and squirrel away for snacking during the day.
Breakfast options include poached egg bowls with a choice of 1. black beans, tomato, coriander, feta and spinach, 2 kale, quinoa, sweet potato, basil and cashew cream or 3 smoked salmon, avocado, rocket and tomato. They also do chunky savoury toast topped with your choice of smoked salmon, lemon juice and dill or almond butter, toasted sesame seeds, cinnamon and honey. Don’t fret… avocado, chilli, lime and rocket is firmly on the menu.
If you’re swinging by for lunch… pick up a warm grain bowl of ‘Miami Rice’, ‘Ginger Spice’ or ‘Absolutely Radishing’… There’s also a range of cold pressed juices, nut milks, kombucha and smoothies. Visit the cafe or order a delivery here.
