Forget Tinder. This summer, it’s all about seeking alternative ways to find a partner. And at the very least, you’ll have a whole lot of fun in the process. From festivals to ball-pits to fitness studios… here are some inventive ways to find love…

Ball-pit speed dating

Ballie Ballerson Stacey Hatfield October 2016

Date in a Dash’s ball pit speed dating takes place in a private ball pit at Ballie Ballerson in Shoreditch, twice a month. It’s like regular speed dating – only instead of awkwardly sitting across the table from someone, you get to swim around in balls to find your next partner. When the whistle blows, you move onto the next. Check it out here.

Camp Wildfire

At music festival Camp Wildfire, singletons should head straight to the on-site dating service Cupid’s Club. It will be holding speed dating, swing dancing, yoga and nipple tassel making, with support from Cupids throughout the experience. It’s a chance to meet in real life – no apps required. The festival takes place from August 31 – September 3 in Kent – tickets here.

Social Concierge

This is the anti-app dating club: a private dating events club for eligible professionals. Social Concierge holds two or three private events each month, like fitness events, cocktail parties and cool experiences. Witness the Fitness – a workout class followed by cocktails and juices and an after party – is not to be missed. Find out more here.

Non-verbal meetings

Shhh Dating holds dating events that are seriously alternative. The key is that all games and activities – which are a lot of fun – are totally non-verbal. It makes for some epic flirty eyes, and good vibes all round. Have a look here.

By Charlotte

Charlotte is a London girl through and through. She sweats through spin and puffs through Pilates to justify trying the latest restaurants and devouring copious amounts of sweet potato fries, burrata and bread – preferably on holiday. Her favourite destinations include Italy, the Maldives and anywhere where the sun’s shining and there’s a strong breakfast buffet. She’s obsessed with walking, visiting farmers’ markets and reading. She’s also learning to cook. Wish her (and her husband) luck.
